Abstract
A study was carried out on the hydroformylation of 2-vinyl- and 2-propenylfurans in the presence of HRh(CO)(PPh3)3 as a homogeneous catalyst. The substrate/ catalyst mole ratio was 600. Gas-liquid chromatography, PMR, and13C NMR spectroscopy were used to establish that the reaction proceeds regiosélectively in the case of 2-vinylfuran and regiospecifically in the case of 2-propenylfuran.
