Conclusions

The photolysis of liquid perfluoro-2,4-dimethyl-3-ethyl-2-pentene gives perfluoroallyl and perfluoroalkyl radicals with anomalously long lifetime in the liquid at room temperature. The accumulation and decomposition of perfluoroallyl radicals occurs in the initial stage of the photolysis. Accumulation of perfluoroalkyl radicals occurs upon more prolonged photolysis.
