Conclusions

  1. 1.

The activation parameters of thermal transformations of trimethylsilyl(cumyl) peroxide (I) in cumene in the 20–1000 MPa range were determined. It was found that the acceleration of the reaction by the pressure is due to a significant decrease in the activation energy with an increase in the pressure.

  2. 2.

The total rate constant of the transformations of (I) in the range of high pressures is a function of the initial concentration of the peroxide.

  3. 3.

The results obtained are in agreement with the hypothesized mechanism of transformations of (I), including the reaction of two molecules of the peroxide in the cyclic transition state in addition to a monomolecular reaction.
