Conclusions

  1. 1.

The stability constants were determined for the complexes of 17-membered phosphorus-containing crown ethers in the series of Li, Na, K, Ca, and Mg picrates in methylene chloride and the size of the macrocyclic ring was found to have a significant effect on the complexing capacity of phosphorus polyethers.

  2. 2.

An x-ray diffraction structural analysis showed that the replacement of an adamantyl group by a phenyl substituent did not lead to a rearrangement of the macrocycle such that the phosphoryl oxygen atom could participate in coordination simultaneously with the anisole and ether oxygen atoms.
