Conclusions

  1. 1.

It has been shown by means of the semiempirical MINDO/2 method that in the addition of an isolated proton to methyl vinyl ether, it is possible to form species protonated through the 0 atom, in which the proton is not fixed by the 2p-unshared pair, but by a hybridized orbital close to sp2, lying in the Cβ-Cα-0 plane.

  2. 2.

For the form protonated through the Cβ, we have established the formation of a structure that can be regarded as a complex of

    and H2.
