Conclusion

  1. 1.

    In 3,6-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxytrichlorostannylphenoxyl, the SnCl3 group experiences hindered rotation the energy barrier of which shows a bond of the tin atom with both oxygen atoms of the free-radical ligand.

  2. 2.

    A transformation of the pentacoordination structure of the complex (I) into an octahedral structure on the coordination of electron-donating molecules with the tin atom has been detected.
