Cotton — Mouton constants and the anisotropy of the magnetic susceptibility of substituted benzenes

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

An equation has been proposed for the calculation of molar Cotton-Mouton constants from solution data.

  2. 2.

The magnetic susceptibility ellipsoids of C-Cl and C-Br bonds and of the C-CH3 groups in a number of substituted benzenes have been found.
