Conclusions

1.
The IR and Raman spectra of gaseous, liquid, and crystalline CH2(PCl2)2 were obtained. The presence of conformational equilibrium with a ratio of conformers of 2∶3 at room temperature was established based on the spectra.

The results of the conformational analysis of tetrachloromethylenediphosphine showed that at ∼20°C, there is equilibrium of the three conformers with approximately the same concentration; two of them could be spectroscopically indistinguishable.

3.
The frequencies and shapes of the normal vibrations and the valence-force field were calculated.
