Conclusions
-
1.
Mo(CO)6 is an effective catalyst for the dehydrochlorination of the gem-trichloromethyl group in α,α,α-trichloro~, α,α,α,ω-tetrachloro-, and a,a,a,y-tetrachloroalkanes.
-
2.
Triphenylphosphine lowers the catalytic activity of Mo(CO)6 in the dehydrochlorination of gem-trichloromethyl compounds and increases the activity of Fe(CO)5 in the same reaction.
