Conclusion

    Methylenebispiperidonoxyl biradicals are formed upon the condensation of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-oxopiperidin-1-oxyl with formaldehyde in mole ratio from 1∶0.5 to 1∶1.5 in aqueous alkaline medium.

     
  2. 2.

    3-Methylene-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-oxopiperidin-1-oxyl radicals dimerize upon prolonged standing through a Diels-Alder reaction, while they undergo Michael self-condensation in dilute aqueous alkaline medium.
