Conclusion

  1. 1.

    Treatment of the carbonium ion salt [Cp(CO)2FeCH2C(Fc)OC2H5]+BF4 with ethyl cyano-acetate gave σ-3-cyano-3-ethoxycarbonyl-2-ferrocenylallyl (cyclopentadienyl) dicarbonyliron; its photochemical rearrangement resulted in the formation of a π-complex.

    The synthesis of σ-3,3-dicyano-2-ferrocenylallyl (cyclopentadienyl) dicarbonyliron from 3,3-dicyano-2-ferrocenylallyl chloride and Cp(CO)2FeNa has also been demonstrated.

     
  3. 3.

    3,3-Dicyano-2-ferrocenylallyl chloride was prepared via the reaction of the carbonium salt [FcC(OC2H5)CH2Cl]+BF4 with malononitrile.
