Halogenation of N-alkyl-N′-alkoxydiazene N-oxides

Conclusions

Either N-alkyl-N′-alkoxydiazene N-oxides in alkaline medium or their salts react with Br2 or Cl2 to give the correspondingα -halo derivatives of N-alkyl-N′-alkcxydiazene N-oxides.
