Special features of the solubility of argon in solvents with a three-dimensional hydrogen bond framework

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    This is the first report of a gas solubility maximum in a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The argon solubility maximum corresponds to a minimum for entropy losses due to the formation of cavities in the solvent.

  2. 2.

    The concept of a “limiting solvophobic effect temperature” was proposed.
