Conclusions

  1. 1.

In the reaction of cumyl hydroperoxide with methacrylate, trimethylolpropane triacrylate and pentaerythritol tetraacrylate, the reactivity of the double bond decreases with increase in the number of the ester groups in the molecule, which can be explained by the multidipole interaction effect.

  2. 2.

A comparison of the data on the reactions of oxygen and cumyl hydroperoxide with the double bond of polyhydric unsaturated esters shows that the more endothermal the reaction, the greater is the contribution of the multidipole interaction to the Gibbs' energy of the activated complex.
