Conclusions

  1. 1.

In the presence of an aluminum-vanadium catalyst, the formation of n-dodecenes from n-dodecane proceeds via dehydrogenation and oxidative dehydrogenation reactions, and the formation of C6–11 olefins proceeds by the oxidative cracking reaction of hydrocarbons.

  2. 2.

Under optimum conditions, a 15% yield of C6–12 olefins, including ∼10% of n-dodecenes, is achieved with a 70% selectivity. C6–11 hydrocarbons contain about equal amounts of paraffins and olefins; among them C7–9 hydrocarbons are formed in the highest proportion.
