Conclusions
The fundamental possibility of the electrochemical reduction of methanesulfonates of 5-substituted 2-hydroxymethyl-2,5-dihydrofurans on a Pb cathode with opening of the heterocycle and the formation of isomeric di- and triene hydrocarbons and alcohols has been demonstrated.
