Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The rate constant for the reaction of N(4S) atoms with methane at room temperature is less than 10−17 cm3/sec.

     
  2. 2.

    The rate constant for the reaction of N(4S) atoms with methyl iodide at room temperature is (3.4±1.8)·10−16 cm3/sec.
