Conclusions
The use of the ZrNi-H system as a hydrogen acceptor in a dehydrogenation reaction permits a significant increase in the conversion of cyclohexane to benzene due to a shift in the thermodynamic equilibrium upon the removal of hydrogen from the reaction stream. This permits us to carry out the reaction at a temperature 100–200°C below those commonly used and accumulate hydrogen.
