Telomerization of 1-hexene with butyraldehyde results in the formation of two main series of telomers — ketones and hydrocarbons.

In the reaction studied, radical rearrangement with 1,6-migration of a hydrogen atom along the chain containing a carbonyl group occurs to a significant extent.
