Conclusions
-
1.
The vibrational frequencies of the hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane molecule are in good agreement with the calculated values based on the force field of the O2Si(CH3)2 segment as calculated from the experimental spectrum of dimethyldimethoxylsilane.
-
2.
The force field of the O2Si(CH3)2 segment can be used to construct an initial approximation of the force fields of various dimethylpolysiloxane oligomers and polymers in spectroscopic and thermodynamic calculations.
