Conclusions
-
1.
Parallel polymerization (10–20%) and oxidative-degradation (20–40%) reactions occur during oxidation of diallylcarbinol and related compounds to ketones.
-
2.
The optimal oxidizing agents for diallylcarbinol are chromic acid in a two-phase system, moist PCC, and DMSO/PBr3.
