Nature of13C NMR paramagnetic shifts induced by Cr(acac)3 in molecules of organic solvents

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    For a broad circle of organic compounds, interaction with Cr(acac) leads to the appearance of appreciable spin density on the carbon atoms.

  2. 2.

    The outer-sphere interactions responsible for transfer of spin density have a donoracceptor character.

  3. 3.

    An analogy exists between the relationships governing delocalization of spin density in molecular complexes of organic radicals and in outer-sphere adducts of metal complexes.
