Volt-amperometric study of the oxidation of anions of gem-dinitroalkanes

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The nature of the anodic waves on the polarization curves of anions of gem-dinitro-alkanes has been established. It has been shown that the oxidation of these anions is a multistage process, and the electrode reaction at the potentials of the first waves includes the oxidation of the intermediately formed particles NO 2 and NO, while the second wave corresponds to the oxidation of the NO 3 ion.

  2. 2.

    The electrooxidation of anions of gem-dinitroalkanes leads to the formation of the corresponding un-ionized dinitro compounds in high yield part of the initial anions being consumed in side reactions of nonelectrochemical nature.
