Conclusions

  1. 1.

The phenyl group in 5-phenyl-1, 3-di-R-1, 3,5-diazaphosphorinanes exists preferentially in an equatorial orientation.

  2. 2.

An analogy is observed in the change in the conformational free energy of the substituent attached to the carbon and phosphorus atoms when the ring CH2 groups are substituted by oxygen or nitrogen atoms.
