Conclusions
-
1.
The rate constants for the oxidation of the aqua and chloro complexes of Co(II), Fe(II), and Mn(II) by the Cl2 −-ion-radical in aqueous solutions were measured by the pulse radiolysis method.
-
2.
A substantial increase was observed in the oxidation rate with increase in the number of chloride ions in the inner coordination sphere of the complex was observed.
