Conclusions

  1. 1.

The basicity constants of the 2′-amino groups and the effective and real rate constants of the reactions of cyclodehydration and hydrolysis of 4'-substituted 2'-aminobenzanilides in aqueous solutions of sulfuric acid were determined.

  2. 2.

The correlation of the basicity constants and real rate constants with the constants of the substituents o suggests acceleration of the reactions of cyclodehydration and hydrolysis under the effect of electron-acceptor substituents and a synchronous mechanism of cyclodehydration with a low-polarity transitional state.
