Conclusions

The action of dimethylsulfoxide on phenyl-9-o-carboranyliodonium tètrafluoroboride gives the 5(6)-dimethylsulfoxonium 7,8-dicarba-nido-undecaborate internal salt whose structure was solved by x-ray diffraction analysis.
