Conclusions

  1. 1

    The unsymmetrical anhydrides of carboxylic acids are capable of being reduced by the CF3COOH-R3SiH system.

  2. 2.

    An ionic mechanism was proposed for the reduction, which includes the intermediate formation of the acyl cation.
