Conclusions

  1. 1.

A study has been made of the stability and ESR spectra of free radicals resulting from γ irradiation at −196°C of triethylbenzene, the diethyl ester of dimethylmalonic acid, and tert-butylbenzene adsorbed on NaX and CaX zeolites at room temperature and above. Only the radicals formed from irradiation of molecules with diameters commensurate with the zeolite aperture diameters show anomalously high stability.
