Condensation of dimethylvinylethynylcarbinol with formaldehyde in the presence of KU-2 catalyst

A study is made of the optimum conditions for condensing dimethyl-vinylethynylcarbinol with formaldehyde in the presence of KU-2 cation-exchange resin as catalyst, with a view to preparing enyne and dienyne substitution products of 1, 3-dioxane.
