Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds Aims and scope

Abstract

The catalytic acylation and subsequent heterocyclization ofα- andβ-acetonyl derivatives of thiophene were studied. Mechanisms for the synthesis of thienopyrylium salts, the reaction of which with ammonia leads to the difficult-to-obtain thienopyridines, are proposed.
