Communication 3. Cisoid dienes

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

A detailed study was made of the Grignard reaction with esters of cis- and trans-1,2-cyclahexanedicarboxylic acids.

  2. 2.

1,2-Bis(diphenylmethylene cyclohexane and diisopropylidenecyclohexane, and also their cyclobutane analogs, do not undergo diene condensation with maleic anhydride and with benzoquinone.

  3. 3.

The Reformatsky reaction with 3,5-dimethyl-2-cyclopenten-1-one leads to 2,4-dimethyl-1,4-cyclo-pentadiene-1-acetic acids.
