Summary
-
1.
The action of sodium alkoxides on 1,3,4,-tetrachloro-1,2,3,4-tetrafluoro-1-butene leads to the formation of 1,1,1-trialkoxy-4,4-dichloro-2,3,4-trifluoro-2-butenes.

2.
When sodium alkoxides react with the linear dimer of chlorotrifluoroethylene, 3-alkoxy-4-chlorohexafluoro-1-butenes are formed. The linear dimer of chlorotrifluoroethylene is probably a mixture of 3,4-dichloro-hexafluoro-1-butene and 1,4-dichlorohexafluoro-2-butene, with a predominance of the latter.
