Conclusions
When initiated with coordination initiators based on iron pentacarbonyl, the main telomerization product of 2-chloropropene with 1,1,1-trichloroethane is 2,2,4,4-tetrachloropentane. Small amounts of a telomer of structure CH3CCl2(CH2CClCH3)2Cl, 1,1-(2,2-dichloropropyl)-ethylene, and chlorotri(2,2-dichloropropyl)methane are also formed.
