Conclusions
-
1.
The reaction ofμ-diacetatediacetatoditriphenylphosphinedipalladium with hydrogen is an autocatalytic process.
-
2.
The length of the induction period for this process depends on the nature of the solvent; it is unaffected by the introduction of acetic acid into the system, and increases with falling concentration of complex or hydrogen, or with rising concentration of the triphenylphosphine.
