Avulsion fracture

Summary

Avulsion fracture is more likely the result of a trauma to ligamentous structures than division of their continuity. The presented case of an avulsion fracture of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus from the intercondylar eminence illustrates the actual possibilities of arthroscopic surgery. It demonstrates the advantages of a diathermic cutting hook.

Zusammenfassung

Abrißfrakturen sind eher das Resultat einer Verletzung von ligamentären Strukturen als eine Durchtrennung ihrer Kontinuität. Der vorgestellte Fall einer Abrißfraktur des medialen Hinterhornes von der Eminentia intercondylaris zeigt die aktuellen Möglichkeiten der arthroskopischen Chirurgie. Es verdeutlicht die Einsatzmöglichkeit des Hochfrequenz-Schneidehäkchens.
