Conclusions

  1. 1.

The interaction of propylene with H-forms of zeolites of the type of mordenite, erionite, and Y proceeds according to an acid-base mechanism with the OH groups as carriers of Brönsted acidity. In the case of H-forms of mordenite, the hydroxonium ion also participates in the interaction.

  2. 2.

On the H-form of mordenite, characterized by increased acidity, there is a reaction of condensation of propylene with the formation of polymer structures; polymerization does not occur on dealuminized samples.

  3. 3.

The adsorption of C3H6 on NaM proceeds according to a redox mechanism with the formation, in particular, of an acetylene complex. In the presence of hydrogen at 200–250° there is a hydrogenation of propylene to propane.
