1.
In the dehydrocyclization of n-heptane on aluminum-chromium catalysts a gradual decrease in the yields of toluene and, to a less degree, in the yields of the other transformation products of n-heptane, is observed with increase in the temperature of their reduction. An increase in the regeneration temperature of the same catalyst samples, previously deactivated by reduction at 700°, leads to a gradual increase in the yields of the reaction products.

2.
The found experimental facts can be explained by the changes in the surface of the Cr2O3 in the aluminum-chromium catalysts during their heat treatments, and also by the consecutive character of the dehydrocyclization reaction.
