Conclusions

The reaction of fluoroolefins and alkali metal fluorides with mercury trifluoroacetate and trifluoromethylmercury trifluoroacetate in polar aprotic solvents is a convenient method for the preparation of symmetrical and unsymmetrical bis(perfluoroalkyl)mercury compounds.
