Conclusions
-
1.
A new method was developed for the mild removal of sulfo groups from the fully acetylated sulfates of monosaccharides using thionyl chloride.
-
2.
A chemical method was proposed for determining the positions of the sulfo groups in sulfurized monosaccharides, which consists in desulfurizing the acetyl derivatives and subsequent methylation.
-
3.
The acetyl groups in the acetyl derivatives of the pyridinium salts of various sulfates of D-glucose do not migrate under solvolytic desulfurization conditions.
