Initiated oxidation of cyclohexyl methyl ether and the role of the hydroxyl group of the alcohol in the regeneration of oxidation inhibitors

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The rate constants of initiation (azoisobutyrodinitrile), chain propagation and termination were measured in the initiated oxidation of cyclohexyl methyl ether (CHME).

  2. 2.

    The rate constants and coefficients of inhibition in a medium of CHME undergoing oxidation were measured for five inhibitors of different classes at 70°.

  3. 3.

    The reducing properties ofα-hydroxyperoxide radicals of alcohols are due to the hydrogen atom of the hydroxyl group.
