1.
A study has been made of the autooxidation of benzaldehyde. The results obtained indicate that chain initiation in this reaction follows a trimolecular mechanism with a rate constant k equal to 5.4·10−5 liter2/mole2·sec (27°C).

A study has also been made of the kinetics of the benzaldehyde oxidation by ozonated oxygen, and of the products obtained from this reaction. A mechanism has been proposed for this process, and rate constants and efficiencies of initiation measured.
