Summary

The anterior head region ofReighardia sternae is equipped with different groups of sensilla. They have been investigated using scanning and transmission electron microscopy. According to their ultrastructure they exhibit certain features in common with true arthropods. Each sensory cell bears one apical cilium and is surrounded by two sheath cells.
