Abstract

Applying a new method, based on integral measurements, we demonstrate that there is a broadening of the narrow component in the gamma angular distribution curve when positrons annihilate in ice. This broadening seems to be imputable to the existence of Bloch states and justifies the discordance between theoretical and experimental values of the magnetic quenching.
