Abstract
Activities of glycosidases ofEntamoeba histolytica were determined in cell homogenates and growth medium at neutral and acidic pH. Most of the activities were low. In homogenates, significant activity was found for α-glucosidase, α-amylase, N-acetyl-neuraminate lyase, β-N-acetyl-D-glucosaminidase, and hyaluronidase. In the growth medium, only two of these enzymes, α-amylase and β-N-acetyl-D-glucosaminidase, were significantly active.
