Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The use of molecular sieves to bind the cleaved lower alcohol in the transesterification of the orthoesters of sugars makes it possible to substantially increase the yield of the orthoesters.

     
  2. 2.

    The intramolecular and intermolecular transesterification of the orthoesters of sugars in the presence of 4 Å molecular sieves were described on a number of examples.
