Synthesis and properties of dibromo(diphenylamino)borane and of its reaction product with pyridine

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Dibromo(diphenylamino)borane was synthesized by the reaction of BBr3 with diphenylamine.

  2. 2.

    The reaction of excess pyridine with dibromo(diphenylamino)borane gives the adduct (C6H5 2NBBr2. 2C5H5N, which has the structure of a boronium salt in which the cation has a +1 charge.
