Conclusions
-
1.
The components of the tensor of polarizability of the S- O bond in methylmethanesulfonate were determined.
-
2.
Arylmethanesulfonate exists in a conformation with a gauche arrangement of the methyl and aryl radicals.
-
3.
The aryl radicals in the molecules of arylmethanesulfonates project out of the plane of C-O-S by 40–45° in the direction of the oxygen atom of the sulfo group.
