Conclusions
-
1.
A study of PMR spectra shows that the rate of exchange of trimethyltin thiophenolate with trimethyltin halides and phenolate in toluene varies inversely with the temperature.
-
2.
The rate of exchange in Me3SnX + Me3SnPh systems is dependent on the nature of the X group, increasing in the order: Br<Cl<PhO at room temperature and below. The order of increase above 60°C is: PhO<Br<Cl.
