Conclusions

1.
A study has been made of the kinetics of the thermal decomposition of hexafluoroisopropylidene-p,p′-diphenyldiacyl diazide in bulk, in hexafluoroisopropylidene-p,p′-diphenyldiacyl diazide solution, and in solution in various solvents, working over the interval from 55 to 95°C.
-
2.
Thermal breakdown in solution follows a first-order equation, the rate being essentially independent of the nature of the solvent.
-
3.
Departures from the Arrhenius law are observed in the breakdown of acyl azide in the solid phase.
